Purchase: I bought the saddle on ebay feeling that it was time to step up from my cheapy Kincade saddle. I paid a little over $2000 for it (used). I believe it is a 2004 or 2005 mode.
Likes: It is a very pretty saddle. I also like that it has both knee and thigh blocks. The leather is decent quality.
Dislikes: This saddle was NOT what I expected coming from a well known saddle maker like Antares. I really can't tell ANY difference in comfort level between this and my $300 Kincade. Also, it puts me in the worse position over fences. According to my trainer it fits me fine, so it is not a question of size. I just can't stand the design.
Quality: Compared to my Kincade, the leather is nice. However you can't tell that your sitting on $3000 (what they cost new) leather when your riding in it. Also, as I mentioned before the design is very weird, even my trainer commented on how he didn't like it.
Summary: I dislike this saddle, if I had bought it at a tack shop or through a catalog it would been sent back. It does NOT seem like it's worth $2000 and the design doesn't work for me. However it may for you so my advice is TRY IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT. I had never ridden in an Antares before and I certainly wouldn't have bought it if I had. They say each person "chooses" a saddle that works for them, and I guess Kincade chose me, not Antares. But maybe it will for you. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! :)
