Purchase: I bought this helmet new in Dover after a bad fall that forced me to replace my IRH ATH helmet. I bought it on sale and I believe it was around $250.
Likes: The ventilation works very nicely, it stays very cool during hot summer rides. It is also protective and I feel safe while wearing it. I loved the fact that I could have the quality and style of a GPA helmet without having to move into a cardboard box to pay for it.
Dislikes: I wish it had a nape protector like the newer GPAs have. Also, I wouldn't recommend them for the show ring (although I'm sure they'd be fine for jumpers) due to the fact that it isn't velvet and has a slightly "rubbery" look.
Quality: It runs small compared to my IRH helmet. I usually need a size 7 in other helmets, however for GPA's I was a 7 1/8. I'm glad I checked my size on the chart on Dover's website before I bought it. I feel I should mention that although they run small compared to OTHER helmets it IS true to the size chart supplied by the Dover website. Pleas measure your head before buying. Other than that I was very pleased with the quality and protection it offers
Summary: I would recommend this helmet 100% for schooling, schooling shows, and possibly for the jumper ring (I would not say it would be ok for hunters or equitation). If you can find on of these helmets, go ahead and buy it. It's a cheap alternative to the newer GPA's that are the same quality just an updated style.
