Purchase: I bought this pad about a year ago because I do a lot of jumping and wanted my horse to be comfortable. It was $30 at Dover Saddlery.
Likes: This pad is really nice. It shapes to your horse's back and barely shows under the saddle. It is nice and squishy, and kind of feels like memory foam. It cleans off easily and still looks almost brand new.
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like about this pad is that in the winter it becomes solid. It doesn't matter if you had it inside and brought it outside to ride. It will turn solid on your horse. I didn't think it would do any good if it was solid, so I just don't use it in the winter (I only do flatwork in the winter anyway).
Quality: There's not much to this pad, but it does hold up well. It is made of a foam that feels like memory foam. It does seem comfortable for my horse, so I think it's doing its job well.
Summary: This is a great pad at a good price for everyday riding. I don't know how it would do with a horse that had extreme back pain, but it works well for my horse. (He actually had no back problems beforehand, it's just a precaution.) If you jump your horse a lot, or even go on long trail rides, get this pad for your deserving horse!
