Purchase: I bought these off of Statelinetack.com for $15. They look like a lead rope with a clip at each end, which is what I was looking for. I like to ride my horse bareback with his halter sometimes, and before I got these I used to tie his lead rope onto the brass rings to use as reins. With these reins, I can quickly clip each side onto the halter and hop on!
Likes: These are lovely reins for my purpose. I ride english, but wanted some rope reins for bridleless work. They're colorful and are nice and strong, as are all weaver products I have had. They're also just the right length. I own the ones in pink/blue/purple.
Dislikes: The only thing that's not to love about these reins is that they're not grippy. This isn't a problem for me though since I only use them when I have to (I'm trying to get my horse to go completely bridleless!) As long as you don't want super grippy reins these are perfect.
Quality: The clasps on these are very nice, and I think these reins will really be able to hold up to the normal wear and tear of riding.
Summary: These reins are fantastic! I'm so happy I bought them. I don't know how many people use them for my purpose, but they're absolutely perfect for it! I bet they'd be great barrel reins, too, but I wouldn't really know since I ride english.
