Purchase: I bought four of these blankets from three different online retailers - from $90-$120.
Likes: I like the Thermo-manager lining - it is light and not at all bulky. The blanket is a bit more fitted than most and seems to run a bit smaller because of this.
Dislikes: NOT WATERPROOF!!! Each of these blankets on four different horses, in three different fields became SOAKED in the snow!!!
I called Tuff-Rider 'customer service' and Sherry said they are aware of the problem and think it is a lot problem. I think it is ALOT problem. In any case, their solution is for me to return these blankets to the three different retailers, so the retailers can return the blankets to Tuff-Rider and then Tuff-Rider can decide whether their is a problem and if so, they will provide replacements. All while I wait...
Now I have four, old-as-dirt horses, living outdoors 24/7 without waterproof turnouts!
(Yes, these horses have run-in sheds, but they do need waterproof blankets!)
Quality: These blankets have only been in use for one month. One of the blankets is fraying at the gusset 'points'. The highneck blanket has fill (instead of thermo lining) in the attached neck - which has torn and been mended.
Summary: The Thermo-manager lining is nice but don't buy this blanket if you want your horses to be dry!
