Purchase: I bought these stirrups a little over a year ago at Dover Saddlery for $209. I wanted to try jointed stirrups to improve my position and comfort while jumping.
Likes: These stirrups are pretty comfy! The jointed parts really flexed, and it was easy to put my heels down. I like the different look of these stirrups, too! They are silver with black rubber on the jointed parts and a black pad with a blue circle in the center.
Dislikes: Although these stirrups flexed, they didn't help my comfort after a while. They seem really comfortable at first and then your ankles still get sore. I rode in the rain a couple times with them and my feet kept slipping right out of them! Then, since they're lightweight, they would shoot outwards and almost hit my horse in the chest! (they swung out probably 2 feet!) I do eventing and this would be horrible if it happened in a competition.
Quality: These stirrups are nice and strong, but I have no idea what was going on when they got wet. Supposedly these stirrups are "extra grippy", but I never had that problem with my fillis stirrups! They look nice and have a slight bend to alleviate the pressure of the leathers on your legs.
Summary: In the end, I decided to return these stirrups because they were unsafe to ride in the rain and that's bound to happen someday during a competition. I bought the MDC ultimate stirrups instead and they don't have that problem. These are nice stirrups if you never plan to ride in the rain, and enjoy a jointed stirrup.
