Purchase: Bought saddle from Kates australian saddles, about 5 years ago. Saddle company was friendly and honest to deal with. I paid $550.00, for the saddle. I wanted a lightweight secure comfortable saddle.
Likes: I have bought and ridden in several Kates rideabout saddles, and l love them. I have bought many expansive saddles before and after the Kates saddles, but still reach for the Kates saddle every time! I have especially found that as l get older my hips bother me and the Kates saddle is the narrowist seat twist that l have come across. Yet the saddle fits most horses. (Unless you have a extra narrow horse or a extremely wide horse , this saddle WILL fit.) I bought the wider stirrup leathers and the saddle and leathers break in like butter. If you have knee trouble the 4 inch stirrup leathers work nicely.
Dislikes: Maybe western rigging would be nice but the dressage rigging is just fine.
Quality: I have ridden in these saddles for years and they stand up perfect . For the price this is a quality saddle . Leather is very good, l like the close contact of the saddle. Its a cute saddle.
Summary: The nicest saddle l have ever ridden in. My horses all ride smoother in the Kates, compared to my other saddles.I have bought a few Kates saddles because my friends try my saddle and buy it, and l have to get another! I also recommend the Len Brown Corrector pad depending on what horse l ride I like to use this pad as well.
