Purchase: I got this saddle on trial directly from Duett. It is their newest model and sells for $990.
Likes: The leather is very nice (it currently comes in black, but will be available in dark brown by this summer) and the stitching is tight. It's a beautiful saddle. Nancy at Duett recommended this saddle because my horse has wide shoulders, but defined withers, and this model is a cutback. Since it is listed on Duett's website as an all purpose/eventing saddle I was skeptical, but the flaps are more forward than most AP models I have seen. I was able to shorten my stirrups to galloping length and had no problem with the flap being too straight (I am 5'7"). It has a deep seat, and made me feel very secure without being restricted. The seat is extremely comfortable.
My horse loved this saddle. Even my husband, who is a beginner, noticed that my horse seemed happier and more comfortable.
Dislikes: I liked everything about this saddle. I had to return it because I needed a different seat size, but otherwise would have kept it.
Quality: Very good quality, especially for that price. Beautiful leather, excellent construction.
Summary: I love this saddle! Forget the AP label and give it a try. I would highly recommend it.
