Purchase: I bought the boots from Valley Vet about three years ago. They were about $50 each. I had done a lot of research and found these were highly recommended and had the fewest breakable parts. They appeared to be easy to put on and you don't have to tighten them after you have been riding for a while.
Likes: I like these boots very much. They are relatively easy to put on and have stayed put even through water crossings, mud and rocky trails.
You need to measure precisely but that's easy with the "fit kit" that is available at a very low price. I hold the horse's bent leg between my knees and use both hands to get the boot on. I have weak wrists, so I cannot "wiggle" them on. Instead, I slip the boot on the edge of the foot and then tap it on with a hammer. This is easier than it sounds!
Dislikes: The boots slide easily onto freshly trimmed hooves. However, as the edges of the hooves become rougher, it's harder to get the boots on. For those people with backs strong enough to rasp their horses' hooves between trims, this will not be a problem.
Quality: I don't ride that mare often but have used the Gloves for several rides on her over the past few years and they worked great.
Summary: I really like these boots.
