Purchase: I bought my passier saddle at a local saddlery shop after having the fitter come out to tell me which saddle was the best fit for my horse. I paid the retail price of $5000 AUS.
Likes: It is absolutely divine to ride in for a petite rider as it has a lovely narrow twist and a reasonable wide seat area. It is very comfortable even on very long trail rides.
Dislikes: Passier seem to have a very narrow channel that seems to get narrower in the middle or towards the back. This is not good for most modern horses- i believe they need to change this..
The panels are also very hard to touch.
This was ultimately not the right saddle for my horse (even though it seemed to fit well), I have spent a lot of money at the vets to discover that the lameness problem that my horse had been experiencing was actually a saddle that did fit correctly. It has given her a chronic sore back problem and a lot of training issue i now need to iron out.
Quality: The quality is fantastic- it's passier so that comes with the territory. It can't be faulted, beautiful to look at and made to last!
Summary: I am thoroughly put off Passier due to the damage my horse has endured. It is made for the rider comfort more so than the horse i believe. I will never consider purchasing another....
