Purchase: I was extremely lucky to find this saddle on ebay, new, and $200 under retail price.
Likes: I love just about everything about this saddle! It is lightweight and much easier to handle, and nicer for my horse. It fits my American Saddlebred perfectly, (who is from the older, stockier, larger boned blood), and the suspended seat is heaven to ride in. There is no break-in period, this saddle is ready. It is incredibly comfortable, and my horse has been moving freely and happily on every ride since I got this saddle.
Dislikes: I am 5'3", and the stirrup fenders were still too long for me even as short as they could go, with the custom "stirrup turners" added, as they add about 3" to the length. Since I didn't order the saddle and couldn't customize it, simply removing the extra strap of leather that made the stirrups turned made me able to get the stirrups short enough for me. I am sure if you ordered this saddle through the manufacturer, they could shorten the fenders for you if you are short-legged like me. This was a very minor issue, and only because I did not custom order.
Quality: This saddle is made of high quality leather and is sturdily constructed. The rivets are strong and sound, and it's a very solid feel. Quality all the way, at half the cost of comparable brands. It came with the wide endurance/trail stirrups which are leather covered, very nice.
Summary: I am so happy with this saddle. I do wish they were available in a wide tree that would fit my friesian cross too. After two rides in this brand new saddle, I had no soreness, and my horse was happy. It is easy to care for and lightweight. I cannot say enough good things, and wish I would have found out about this saddle a decade ago.
