Purchase: Bought this saddle lightly used, hoping it would fit my very wide standardbred. Paid $700 and it came with matching tack.
Likes: *Has FQHB* I love the roughout on this saddle, the whole saddle is pretty much roughout. I also like the amount of silver on it, not too much, but just enough to catch some attention. Very nice looking saddle over-all. Also, VERY comfortable, and fits most horses well. Was very happy to find a barrel saddle that actually had a 7" gullet!
Dislikes: Although i do love the roughout, i also dislike it too. You can't oil it, and when it rains or snows it WILL lightly stain the roughout. Also disliked the quality of the silver, the silver on the horn tarnishes very easily.
Quality: The construction of this saddle is very good, its just over 3 years old and there isn't any construction problems with it so far. Quality over-all is very good as well, would definitely recommend this saddle to other people.
Summary: LOVE it! In the end, it did not find my very wide 16hh standardbred gelding, but it has fit every other horse it has been on. Fits my 15hh (chubby) appaloosa perfectly, and also fits my paint and quarter horse.
