Purchase: Read an article about these halters on line and decided to try one. Went to SafeHorseHalter website and ordered one for $25 including shipping
Likes: Halter weighs only about 12 ounces. Made of polyester webbing instead of nylon so there is no fading of colors and once halter is fitted to your horse it can't be put on too tight or too loose. AND it will break away easily if it gets caught up in the pasture. Buckle on poll is a plastic parachute clip and halter comes with an extra one in case you lose or break one.
Dislikes: It clearly states NOT to use it for trailering your horse. Which makes sense and I guess there is just not one halter that will do everything. But I'm very happy this halter doesn't make sores on my horses face and I trust it to break away when it needs to.
Quality: Very well made and you can order a wide variety of colors and patterns. If you have a hard to fit horse they will work with you to make a custom fit at no extra charge.
Summary: If your horse HAS to have a halter on when turned out in the pasture then I think this is the best halter to use. I have used mine for everyday and have even lunged my horse in it.
