Purchase: I was fortunate to find Dixieland Gaited Saddles on the web, while doing research to find a saddle for my new Missouri Fox Trotter. Mister's withers are very wide, and I didn't have a saddle that was comfortable for him. The saddles at Dixieland Gaited Saddles are reasonably priced. My new saddle cost a little over $1,000.
Likes: Speak to Cynthia about your horse and saddle needs. She's very knowledgeable, and more than willing to help. Dixieland offers several trees for their saddles. These tree forms, for a nominal fee, will be shipped to you. Take pictures of each form on your horse, send these to Cynthia, and she will decide which is best for your horse. Our new saddle fits each of us like a dream. This saddle is very comfortable for me, but more importantly, it is very comfortable for my horse. The craftmanship on the saddle is awesome! Beautiful leather, beautiful stitching. I can't say enough about my Dixieland Giated Saddle, or how helpful Cynthia was in the process of selection. I receive compliments on our saddle each time we ride.
Dislikes: There is not one thing about this saddle that I don't like.
Quality: From the underside of the saddle to the tip ends of the ties, quality of materials and construction is excellent. It is a beautiful piece of work. All Dixieland Gaited Saddles are made by the Amish. I would love to be able to shake hands with my saddle's maker!
Summary: My Missouri Fox Trotter, Mister, and I are extremely satisfied with our Dixieland Gaited Saddle. Beautiful to look at, a pleasure to ride. According to Mister, also very comfortable to wear. We rode 5 1/2 hours our last ride, and neither of us was the least bit sore. That says a lot. Let Cynthia at Dixieland Gaited Saddles help you design a new saddle for you and your horse.
