Purchase: I bought it off Ebay for $500 used, as it needed one of the stirrup leather keepers restitched, plus a tiny bit of stitching on the seat needed redone as well. I needed a new jump saddle as I had outgrown my old one.
Likes: I love the colour, its a two tone brown, with a chestnut brown on the seat and panels underneath, while the flaps are a slightly darker brown. The quality is just wonderful as you would expect from Stubben. It puts me in a great jumping position and also on the flat. I used to have a bad habit of swinging lower leg, but it seems to have disappeared now! It had a fair bit of use with previous owner, yet still looks wonderful and the leather is oh so soft and grippy. Seat isn't too flat, but deep enough for me when I event. I love the knee blocks and thigh blocks, just adds to the security, especially when I need it on XC. The medium gullet seems to just fit any back I put in on! The wide panels are great and allow a really close contact feel.
Dislikes: Nothing!! Except for the stirrup leathers that Im using at the moment, which are really lumpy under my leg, but it has nothing to do with the saddle itself.
Quality: It will last forever. Stubben saddles are so well made and this one is no exception.
Summary: Without a doubt the best jump saddle I have sat in. I have been converted to a Stubben lover! Quality is amazing, comfort for horse and rider is amazing. I have made all the people at my barn so jealous!! I have no hesitations in recommending this saddle to eventers, show jumpers, hunters, pony clubbers or anyone really. I would give it a 10 out of 5 if I could ;)
