Purchase: I got this saddle online at Horsesaddleshop.com for $1600. I needed a saddle to fit my still growing 3 year old TWH filly. it came with a free saddle pad(tacky too ortho pad) and shipping.
Likes: The saddle fits my horse great, plus it has lots of rigging options available. I am currently just saddling her with the standard rigging, but it's nice to have options. The saddle I test rode her in a slipped a lot(a tucker), but this one fits like a glove and stays put up and down hills and through water, plus I like the flexible tree. It doesn't have too much bulk under my leg, and lets me sit easily in a balanced position, unlike the tucker, which was sitting me back like a chair. She lifts and softens her back nicely, so she seems very comfortable being ridden in it.
Dislikes: I wish the latigos were leather rather than nylon, but they do keep the girth snug, and at least they're easy to clean after going through water. It's too early to tell if they'll stretch, though. The stirrups could be a little more durable as well; they look nice, but do get marked up easily.
Quality: I am very pleased with the construction and quality- the leather is breaking in quickly, and the flexible tree really seems to let her move out easily. I like the tooling and detailing as well, and the medium oil with black suede seat look really sharp on my horse. i also like that is is so light for a western saddle, at 24 pounds, and all leather(no cordura.)
Summary: I'd buy this saddle again in a second- it was totally worth the price!
