Purchase: This saddle was given to me because "nobody at my prior boarding barn in PA liked its fit for the rider" Well, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth!
The saddle is the one without the pommel. It took some getting used to, because I had been riding english after selling a synthetic Aussie-style trail saddle.
Likes: The "fit" on my longer-backed quarter horse is close to perfect whether using a thick or thin pad. This unit is the aussie style without a pommel, and the suede seat is very fitting, so I removed the sheepskin pad the former owner had attached, which was not necessary for comfort. The saddle is made well with nice leather and not too heavy.
Dislikes: I turned the stirrups out just a bit to accommodate an artificial knee joint, but most riders would not find this necessary.
Quality: Very nice leather and a solid but flexible tree that allows the saddle to drape well over the horse's back. There are no dry spots after it's removal.
Summary: This is a very nice all-around saddle that fits the horse comfortably and is well suited for small to medium-build riders who prefer a more fitted seat.
