Purchase: I bought from Horsesaddleshop.com, for about 650 ish. This included bridle and breast collar package. I was hesitant about purchasing online, but they have so many help topics on their site that help you fit your horse.
Likes: I am very happy with the saddle itself. The seat at first was not as comfortable (cushiony) as I had hoped, but after riding in it I realized I didn't hurt anymore. The narrow twist helped my hips not ache so much, as they usually do after riding. The quality is also very nice. It fits my paint mare and my grade mare, but did not fit my wider QH. I recently bought a foxtrotter and this seems to fit her pretty good.
Dislikes: The only downside so far is on the gaited horse, after the first ride the metal blevins type buckle on the inside of the fender rubbed a raw spot on her side. The other two horses I rode in it have never had a problem. Maybe because of her gait?? It also was starting to fray the nylon girth when it rubs over it. On close inspection one edge of the buckle is kinda sharp. I have since covered them both with vetwrap, but makes it a pain to adjust stirrups.
Quality: Quality is very nice for an inexpensive saddle. The leather is thinner than a normal leather saddle, but I'm sure that also helps keep the weight down. The leather quality itself is good, nice and supple after some neatsfoot oil. Also the oil darkened it a little, which I wanted as it is a little reddish. The bridle and breastcollar were same thinner leather, and pretty basic.
Summary: I would buy this saddle again, although I wish it was available in black. It is a very balanced, well made, lightweight saddle. It also seems very comfortable to the horses.
