Likes: This blanket is the answer for horses with severe sweet itch (midge allergy). It covers the horse from over the tail to just behind the ears. Before purchasing the blanket I was worried it might rub or else be too hot for a horse to wear in summer weather. However, the material is lightweight and my horse actually seems cooler than other horses on hot days while wearing her blanket. After two weeks in the blanket, she stopped rubbing her mane and tail. For the first time in three years my horse has a full-length mane again (after wearing her blanket all last spring and summer).
Dislikes: The colors are not especially attractive, but are not terrible either.
Quality: The material is tough and holds up to rough horseplay. I have washed it many times and it has not faded or torn after a year of hard use.
Summary: Even though the blanket seems hard to put on at first, it can be slipped on in about two minutes once you are used to it. While you might think a horse would dislike wearing a blanket in the summertime, removing the constant irritation of the allergic reaction will make your horse much happier.
