Purchase: I was saddle shopping to replace my Prestige saddle. I found this Albion for sale and decided to try it out. It's a used Close Contact and a little older.
Likes: I LOVE this saddle! It's very balanced and correct. Puts you in a great position. The leather is awesome and I'm a leather saddle snob. It's made in England and I'm finding that the saddle leather they use in England is far superior than many others I've seen and felt on names such as Antares, Crosby, Stubben, etc. It's not the same calfskin that you find on the Prestige Italian made saddles, but it is wonderful leather, soft, smooth, grippy, and nice looking. I like the wool flocked panels also. The saddle has a great rich look to it as well. It screams quality.
Dislikes: nothing. Wish they still made them now. I don't think they're being made anymore.
Quality: Top quality construction and quality. Everything about it is high end. Reminds me a lot of the County Stabilizer (only better)
The tree widths are generous and give room at the wither area. A medium appears to be more like a medium/wide
Summary: I'm not so stuck on one brand of saddle anymore now that I found this lovely brand. They will last forever. If you appreciate quality and like a correct and balanced saddle that you'll feel great in, go for this one if you can find it.
