Purchase: Purchased direct through US manufacturer/dealer, Black Forest Saddles Paid $589 ($549 base, $30 to have the pommel switched to a no-horn)
Likes: Lightweight, very cushiony seat
Dislikes: Seat cushion is so thick on the leg part, that combined with the cushioning on the saddle for the cinch ring/stirrup ring, I felt like I was sitting on a sideways throw pillow and could not get my leg on my horse at all, if it had spooked or ducked, I'd have come off with no way to grip for hanging on.
Was told by the owner, that it was probably the padding I was using, and that there's a longer break in period for the synthetics saddles. I had a 7 day period to try it out, and missed the deadline, so I'm stuck trying to sell the saddle on my own now.
Quality: Way cheaper than expected, even for a synthetic. It's edges are not well finished and are vinyl/leatherette like you'd get on a banquette at a restaurant. Fleece is brown, think, faux fur type, not really a fleece
Summary: I've used Abetta synthetic endurance saddles as well, if you want syn, go with them. Also have ridden two different treeless saddles, both bought new, Bob Marshall and Hilason, neither required any break in, and that is from both ends of the cost spectrum.
