Purchase: I bought this helmet at Horse Hardware outside of Kansas City for about $50.
Likes: This helmet is so cool and light, it's really comfortable. I get really hot in the summer, so needed something well vented. I also didn't want to spend a fortune, so this fit the bill well. It's not quite a traditional looking helmet, but i have worn it in the jumper ring and didn't get any weird looks.
Dislikes: The padding does compress somewhat at the beginning, and I'm almost too big for the small, so the first couple of times i wore it I could tell. Now, it fits like a glove though!
Quality: I had a nasty fall last year, and my helmet did its job - it split up the back and my head didn't! I was checked for a concussion after, but didn't end up with one. They couldn't believe it given the fall and the condition of the helmet. It actually hung on our tack room wall for a bit to show the kids WHY we wear helmets.
Summary: I have already bought another Deluxe Schooler and love it, too. My trainer just got one, too. We're serious about protecting our heads, and this helmet does its job!
