Purchase: The universe was smiling at me! I found this by chance one morning on eBay for $400, complete with the entire EasyChange gullet kit! It had to be shipped quite a way, and after all the fittings it was about $700 altogether.
Likes: I am IN LOVE with this saddle! My little guy had an older Collegiate Equite before I bought him, but because he was previously in the lesson program where I board, the saddle started being used on another horse. Can you say frustrating? Anyway, we found this saddle on eBay, and took a little bit of a risk getting it here, but I am SO GLAD we did! This saddle is super comfortable, with high quality grippy leather and an excellent shape for getting you in the correct position! Previous saddles had jammed be into a bit of a chair seat, but that's not the case at all with this one!
Dislikes: Nothing that I've discovered so far. I love this saddle!
Quality: The seat size is a 16", but to me feels a little bit roomier than 16" saddles I've tried. Could just be my imagination, but in any case, this is excellent quality. The leather is really sturdy and tough, but is still soft, supple, and takes oil VERY well! Mine is a 2009 model, but it looks and feels brand new! It was very well cared for in it's previous home, still blown away to have found it.
Summary: For horses that are built with lower withers and flatter, wide backs, this saddle is PERFECT! My pony is a 14.1 paint x Arab butterball, and this fits him better than I could have imagined!
