Model: Wool Saddle Pad (View all Wool Saddle Pad reviews)
Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: I purchased this pad for $160 at a local tack store. It is very attractive, its about 3/4" thick and seemed to be good quality. The under side is felt with a gel insert...so it says
Likes: It's nice to look at that's about it. The top is like a wool show blanket/pad cover.
Dislikes: It doesn't conform to the horses back AT ALL. there is a 3" leather strip running down the middle ( like on the horses spine ) and for some reason it curves down, it dug into my horses back and made him sore after the first ride. I put it on a shorter backed horse and she did fine with it. But on the SECOND RIDE it literally started falling apart! The stitching that holds the wear leathers on came apart on both sides!
Quality: Very poor quality. I will be calling mayatex and asking for a refund.
Summary: I wouldn't recommend this pad to anyone.
