Purchase: I purchased this saddle new from a Freeform sales representative. Saddle, stirrup leathers, HAF pad, Easy Ride Stirrups, and shipping came in right at $2000.
Freeform saddles are modular- you choose your base, and then you choose the seat. Since I trail ride almost exclusively, I chose the ClassicX seat. The pommel is slightly built up with small poleys, which give a bit more support on rough terrian.
This is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in! I have found it to be very stable on my gelding, and secure for me. The manufacture is perfect, the black calfskin very elegant-looking, and there are d-rings galore for tying your "stuff" to.
My gelding likes it too! No sore back!
Likes: Comfort, stability, security, and high quality European manufacture.
Ability to use different seats for different riders/disciplines on the same base.
Dislikes: There is nothing I do not like about this saddle
Quality: Construction and quality are perfect
Summary: A great saddle for the person who want to trail ride in comfort... both for themselves and for their horse.
Please keep in mind that no one saddle will fit EVERY horse or rider, so please do your homework before you buy!
