Purchase: I purchased this saddle through a dealer in MO (C and L Saddles) who listened to my every wish in a custom saddle and made it just to my specs. I paid $1,700
Likes: This saddle is top quality for the money. They even let me try a demo saddle. I'd never even look twice at a circle Y or billy cook after my HR. The stitching is even, the leather is butter soft with virtually no break in time. The sheepskin is real and so plush. They have unlimited custom options to make your saddle special. They fully tooled my saddle with crisp deep basket weave pattern, and even used Jeremiah Watt hardware to match my tack. They used black leather at my request. The stirrups were so easy to turn and I have no knee fatigue. They accommodated my hard to fit horse by using my equimeasure mold and custom making a tree that was sure to fit. The best part is the seat. You can spend a mint on fluffy padded seats, but H R saddles makes a ground seat that tilts your pelvis to provide comfort for long hours in the saddle. The way the stirrups are hung and the way the ground seat is made result in NO PAIN or pressure points on me after 8+ hours of riding in a completely hard slick seat saddle...on a rough riding lumpy haflinger none the less! HR makes saddles like they used to be made. WITH AMERICAN PRIDE and EXCELLENT CRAFTSMANSHIP and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Dislikes: The wait time was a little long 17 weeks, but that included the time it took to have my tree custom made. It was worth the wait.
Quality: Top notch. It ranks among the best. You get complete customization with the price of a mass produced off the shelf saddle.
Summary: Bottom line, if you want a saddle to outlast you and your horse get an HR.
