Purchase: I bought this for $990 on eBay. Three of my friends have Specialized Saddles and love them. I also was having a hard time fitting my horse and this saddle was the answer. I bought my horse at 3 years of age...he's now 6 and ever changing shape...all I have to do is move things around on this saddle and I get the perfect fit...I can tell how comfortable my horse is by the way he moves.
Likes: I am in love with this saddle. It's so comfortable and balanced...I've owned many different saddles and this is the best one...I never want to own another saddle.
I have a bad back and with the saddle's flexibility I was able to lift it up a tad in the back and ending the "pull" on my back. I'm so comfortable in it.
My horse is a Tennessee Walker...with this saddle you can move the cushions back on the bars, thus giving the shoulder lots of room...
Dislikes: I don't like the way the velcro is stapled to the saddle tree...it doesn't look too nice...but that's not really important.
Quality: It's not a terribly heavy leather which makes this light...only weighs 17 lbs which is a perfect weight for me to lift onto the horse. I have a Martin saddle and a Big Horn...the leather is heavier so maybe a higher quality leather, but I can't lift them, and they are not nearly as comfortable as my Specialized Saddle.
Summary: I love that you can purchase extras from the company. I bought bucking rolls, put them on and have never felt so secure. My horse gained some weight so I bought thinner fitting cushions...lots of options with this saddle that add to the comfort of the horse and rider.
If this saddle ever dies, I'll immediately buy another. I like it so much that I took it out of the barn and kept it in my living room all winter...
