Purchase: I purchased this saddle online from Wyoming Saddlery, who custom made it for me. With shipping and a bunch of modifications, it was $704. That price included the tree fitting, added rear cinch Ds, upgraded leather latigos, rawhide cantel and pommel, a shortened tree, and shortened fenders. I have a gaited gelding who is built like a Haflinger - short backed and thick - and I needed a saddle to fit both him, and myself (hence the shortened fenders - I am only 5 feet tall and hate struggling to shorten my stirrups).
Likes: I love this saddle! It is well made, and it is a beautiful saddle that I got to design myself. The modifications were all reasonably priced and I was able to get a very nice saddle, custom made for both my horse and myself, for less than I would pay for most off the rack saddles. The workmanship is beautiful and the customer service was first rate. It was shipped fast, too, especially for a handmade saddle.
Dislikes: Nothing!
Quality: Beautifully constructed, a high quality saddle for much less than the off the rack brands, with the added bonus of being completely customized for both me and my horse.
Summary: If you have a hard to fit horse, contact these guys. They are easy to work with, knowledgeable, and do a beautiful job for a reasonable price.
