Purchase: I bought this saddle used, which was only ridden in 5 times. Basically got lucky as these saddles are hard to find new let alone used. I bought this saddle for my Lusitano and for its polyflex tree. I already own a CS Wolfgang Solo, which I use for my WB and love it. I was lucky enough to pay only $1700 with shipping from a woman in CA.
Likes: The saddle fits the horse like a glove, it actually molds to the horses back. The tree is flexible so it flexes with the horse and doesn't restrict the movement. The leather is very nice, supple, and looks great. The seat is medium and not very deep, it is more of an open seat, the thigh roles are medium as well and internal. It doesn't restrict you but puts you in a correct position. It is very comfortable for the horse and the rider. It is however not the saddle that will help you with your position, you really need a good seat. This saddle rides exactly like Passier but much softer in the seat.
Dislikes:
Quality: The construction of the saddle is outstanding just like any saddle you buy from Custom Saddlery. They are top notch about their saddles and their warranty. The customer service is outstanding and you will never go wrong with CS Saddles. They take those saddles in trade in if you ever decide to buy another one. All saddles made by CS can be adjusted to your horse, however some trees like Wolfgang are made for hard to fit flat back no withers kind of horses so you have to talk to your local fitter to know what would work best for your horse. The best part they have so many models that you are bound to find a saddle for your horse.
Summary: I would definitely recommend this saddle to anyone who wants a very nice saddle that allows your horse to move freely without restrictions or pinching. This is my second saddle from CS and I am sure not my last one. I am looking to buy one more saddle for my other horse and CS is the first one I will be calling.
