Purchase: I purchased this in stock saddle online from Dixieland Gaited Saddles, and worked with Cynthia; I paid $1069. Within days of my purchase, my horse incurred an injury to his stifle area necessitating at least a month of rest. Cynthia was so gracious, communicating with me by email, and taking all pressure off by letting me keep the saddle until my horse's leg was sufficiently healed to try the fit of the saddle. This was so much appreciated and gave me one less thing to worry about...
Likes: I love the saddle! It exceeded my expectations, both in the quality of it's make, as well as it's comfort. My knees typically hurt when I ride a Western saddle, but the English Trooper style fenders are very comfortable, and the wide endurance style stirrups are easy on the feet, lessening my feet falling asleep during those long rides. I got the seat with extra padding, and it is very comfortable. The wool felt lining is well made, the leather an excellent quality, I love all my rings and loops that are on the saddle; overall, I cannot say how much I love this saddle!! Given the quality and comfort of the saddle, it is a bargain at the price and I am so glad I bought this saddle.
Dislikes: I like everything, but if I had to do it all over again, and wasn't in a hurry to be able to order the saddle custom made, I would probably add some extra tooling, and also I would get the cheyenne roll on the saddle seat, but those are only cosmetics, and what I have is still wonderful...
Quality: Excellent. I didn't think I would like the barbwire tooling, but it is simple, but nice looking and just enough. All the stitching is perfectly done, the rigging is secure, the lining is high quality, and the leather is a wonderful quality. I've looked at saddles 2 or 3 times this cost, and they don't have anything better to offer. Plus, this leather is so nice and high quality that even though new, it has a suppleness that has lessened the squeaks and stiffness of other new saddles I've experienced in the past.
Summary: Cynthia was wonderful to work with, and I appreciated her flexibility with me as I needed extra time before I could try out my saddle... but, so glad it fit! Don't hesitate to purchase this saddle.
