Close Contact Saddles

Manufacturer: Tad Coffin
Model: A5
Category: Close Contact Saddles

Purchase: My Butet saddle was giving my new horse back pain. I had never had a problem before and I was a huge fan of the Butet, but after riding my horse in a friend's Tad, he felt like a brand new horse. I had to get one! I purchased it from Middleburg Tack Exchange in VA for $1900.

Likes: I love everything about this saddle. Even though it is not the most comfortable saddle in the world for the rider, it is hands down the most comfortable for a horse. My horse is no longer cranky and sore when I ride. I also love the flatter seat!

Dislikes: I bought mine used for 1900 which was a steal! Normally they are pricey, even used Tads can be around $3000. I wish mine had a forward flap because it would fit me better, but we couldn't pass up the price.

Quality: I used to be more of a fan of the shape of saddles like a Butet or Childeric, but I love the way this saddle looks on my horse. It provides enough support for the horse and rider without being too bulky and it is sooo light! It probably weighs half of what the chunky CWD's and Devocouxs weigh.

Summary: This saddle is amazing, I will never buy another saddle that isn't a Tad Coffin. They are expensive though, so look for used ones that look a little bit less beautiful because they are cheaper and can be brought back to life easily with some oil!
