Purchase: Purchased online from The Equestrian Connection's Fox Hunting Shop. I wanted a dress boot for both schooling and occasional shows. I prefer to school in clothes that I could show in. Paid about $600 plus shipping.
Likes: Very high quality, durable leather used in boot. Boot is fully leather lined, nylon web boot pulls, and smooth composition soles. Heavy duty stitching is used throughout the boot. Very comfortable boot both in the saddle and walking on the ground. I've previously owned Devon Aire and Effingham boots at lower price points. I could tell the difference in the Dehners as soon as I picked them up. I needed an extra inch in the calf so they weren't in stock and had to be especially made. No increase in price but had to wait 3 months. After riding in them for 7 months, I can say they were worth the wait.
Dislikes: My only complaint is the black leather lining has rubbed off on tan breeches at the knee patch. No big deal since that area is covered up by the boot.
Quality: As mentioned before, high quality, heavy duty construction that should last almost a lifetime of riding.
Summary: It took awhile to get up the nerve to spend this much on footwear, but now I'm glad I did. I would recommend them to anyone. If they're ever stolen (I don't think they'll wear out), I will definitely order another pair.
