Purchase: I purchased the Tekna smooth seat jumping saddle from Equestrian Collections for $450.
Likes: I LOVE this saddle! Unlike most synthetics, the material used on this saddle is not only supple like leather, it has tons of grip. I was concerned about getting the smooth seat version, but it actually has more grip than most leather saddles do, without limiting your movement like suede seats can. It is also extremely well balanced and lets you easily hold a proper seat and leg position. I also love the fact that it truly looks like a leather saddle. (Also, no squeaking at all!)
Not only is it balanced for the rider, but it is also balanced for the horse. The tree shape fits my gelding wonderfully, and the channel is evenly spaced throughout. My horse has no issue whatsoever with moving out in this saddle, and it gives him a lot of room for free shoulder movement.
Dislikes: There is nothing I dislike about this saddle.
Quality: This is an extremely well made saddle. It seems to very durable and hard wearing, as well as properly balanced for both the rider and horse.
Summary: If you are looking for a synthetic saddle, you absolutely can not go wrong with a Tekna. They surpass every other synthetic I have ridden in, including Wintecs, by miles.
