Purchase: Online from the maker, I paid about $1100 including shipping, but prices have gone up.
Likes: LOVE the fit, the balance point - we ride endurance horses - and the exceptionally good fit on our horses. I used to have Orthoflexes made by Richard Watson and rode every horse i owned in one saddle. When it wore out, I ended up with a saddle for each horse - expensive and annoying. Now I am able to ride all three horses in one saddle! One saddle pack set! One pad! The flex panels free up the shoulders of my mounts, and the shorter panels fit Arabians better. The superbly soft seat lets me forget I have been trotting for 6 hours or more. TOP NOTCH work!
Dislikes: Nothing except that I want another in a wider tree for two of our family horses who decided to be REALLY WIDE. They are also custom made so take a while to get.
Quality: About the best workmanship I have ever had on a saddle - Richard made 4 of our old OF endurance saddles, and my personal saddle has well over 7500 miles on it - hard miles - and still was in decent condition, with normal leather wear. Top notch.
Summary: I want another of these while Richard is young enough to make one! I plan to ride the rest of my life in this saddle.
