Purchase: I've ordered this fly mask from the manufacturer, it cost $90.
Likes: The manufacturer claims that the product provides a 95% UV protection and it's a good product to use for cases of eye injury or uveitis.
Dislikes: The fly mask does not fit. It would gape right at the forehead and debris, hay, flies, etc can get right to the horse's face and provoke further injury. The material and hems are also very rough. No nice smooth padding preventing flies from getting in.
The UV protective material is basically the mesh net one can get for the garden/window to create shade. Nothing special.
What is worse is that the customer service for the mask was AWFUL. THE worse ever! The first mask they sent 'got lost in the mail'; the second one got here but did not fit anyways; I was charged $10 for shipping that cost only $6 (supposedly the owners need to drive 26 miles to the post office and that pays for gas...never mind that packages can be picked up from one's residence;it just can't b true).
They're now starting to give me grief about returning the unused mask, too.
Quality: Very poor quality. Some masks are fitted well - as one can see in photos on the manufacturer's website, but others, like the one I got, is not fitting at all.
Summary: This mask is not worth it! Do not deal with this company, it's truly the worst.
In the same time I ordered a Cashel Crusader mask from Smartpack, it also offers UV protection, got here in 3 days with free ground shipping, the size is off which I was able to sort over the phone in 3 minutes, I'll get a return label an d the right size is already in the mail.
