Purchase: I bought this saddle new from a tack shop for $300 plus tax.
Likes: Its comfortable and secure. Fits my horse nicely. I love the bendable fenders. The stirrups are much better than the older models'. Its a gorgeous saddle. The cutout skirt makes it look extra nice and it is closer contact. Its easy to clean. The seat is beautifully detailed and nicely padded. Its lightweight. Its durable. Nothing can hurt it. I am convinced that you could drop it off a cliff and then climb down and throw it on your horse and ride off!
Dislikes: Its stiff. Very very VERY stiff. Takes forever to break in. It hasn't even broken in and I have had it for several months. The dee rings in the front aren't sticking out enough so I have to practically break my fingers to lift up the flap to put my breast collar on. The front is very shallow. The hole in the front of the seat behind the fork is so shallow that the withers can go up inside it which I imagine with a thin pad would be uncomfortable for the horse. The seat sits too level. It doesn't slope enough to sit you on your bum in the pocket. The fenders don't swing very freely. This saddle just doesn't give very easily at all.
Quality: Construction and quality wise it is a top notch saddle. Just stiff and needs a lot of miles to break in. I don't think it will ever break in like a leather saddle.
Summary: Despite it being stiff, I love this saddle. I still prefer abetta over wintec but I don't think I will be selling this saddle any time soon. I recommend the saddle despite all of the negative.
