Purchase: I purchased my trail saddle from Crest Ridge Saddlery located in Lowry City,Mo. I recently bought a TWH 10 year old mare out of the Pusher bloodline. She is 14 1/2 hands , has a rather short back but otherwise seems to have a typical conformation. When I brought her home from Kentucky, every time I saddled her up, she began agitated, "goosey", and either bucked or charged forward. I tried 3 different trail saddles ( as well as the Tucker I own), and still had problems with the saddle sliding rearward and rocking side to side. Finally I trailered her to Deb for a saddle fitting. She fitted her to the correct tree and recommended center fire rigging,as well as the correct felt pad. Part of the problem was her very long stride being hindered by the bars on the incorrect tree. On the very first ride under this properly fit saddle, she is calm, comfortable, and able to show of that beautiful TWH GAIT!!
Likes: I purchased the "Sentry" model . Everything about this saddle is quality. It weighs 24 lbs and I can set it gently on her back. I absolutely would not purchase any saddle that wasn't engineered for a centered balanced seat foundation, nor would I buy one that doesn't have a real sheep lining. This saddle has both, and much,much more. Check out Debra's beautiful Amish made saddles. And if your horse is hard to fit, you will get expert care in resolving any problems. You don't have to trailer your horse either; I did because I happen to live in MO. Cost of my saddle $1,550.
