Purchase: I purchased these through Dover two years ago; they were approximately $180.
Likes: I acquired these particular irons because I had damaged my knee ligaments when I ran daily, and thought that with the swivel angle options, I would not contribute to further ligament damage. I ride low level dressage and hack out periodically, and own a pair of plain old fillis irons.
I like the ability to change the angles if necessary, and the large hole allows for webber-style leathers much easier than the traditional fillis holes. However I have found that I leave the swivel on the 45 degree angle most of the time while riding, putting it back to the normal position when finished.
Dislikes: I don't particularly care for the flexible sides; I would rather see a safety style shape, such as the Equiroyal Safety Stirrup Iron, especially if you use webbers. They are quite pricey of course due to the adjustable swivel mechanism.
Quality: Well made and seem to be quite durable. Since I don't move the swivel very often, I can not comment on any type of metal fatigue.
Summary: If you have a physical difficulty with your knees, or lower leg in general, these irons may be beneficial for your comfort. I don't believe that they will make you a better rider, but they make the ride more enjoyable and less worrisome. I would definitely price shop for these particular irons or wait until a sale occurs.
