Purchase: I purchased this from Adams Horse Supply for $299. The store shipped the blanket very quickly and I got a free Horseware Sweatshirt...bonus!
Likes: After trying both a 69 and a 72, I found the 72 to be a much better fit. I really like the secure chest straps and velcro, the overall hardware and the new tail strap. I've used Horseware and Rambo products in the past with no issues, in fact they've all held up and done their job.
Dislikes: As I mentioned, after trying both a 69 and a 72, I found the 72 to be a much better fit. However, I've noticed that since I can't make it down to the barn everyday,
my Arab mare gets these areas where she is missing hair and has scabs these appear to be a little tender and are right on the top of her rump. I recently contacted Horseware Ireland about this and was asked this "Are you sure it's the correct size?" Now this is a valid question, but as mentioned I tried both a 69 and 72 on and had a friend help to decide that the 72 was indeed the best fit, so my answer was yes. I promptly received a reply from someone who then said that, "There currently haven't been any complaints about this model, so I'd ask friends what to do." That was that, and I found the response very dismissive and not very helpful at all! I have used numerous Horseware and Rambo products for the past several years because of recommendations and quality. But after this am seriously considering switching brands.
Quality: Quality appears to be typical Rambo quality - good.
Summary: After seeing my poor horse with her sores, I'm not too happy with this blanket. I could use a liner, but then that would be additional money that would have to be spent (on top of the cost of the blanket!)
After contacting Horseware and receiving the disappointing response from the Horseware representative, I'd say either choose a different brand or make sure you use a liner.
