Purchase: A friend had been using these boots for a year or so on her horses when trail riding. I wanted to be able to trail ride in different terrain and not have to shoe my horse. I paid about $160 give or take some.
Likes: They are easy to get on and off, seem ti fit fairly well, are adjustable (with good video instructions from the company. , stay on fairly well, and definitely let me trail ride in different terrain and not have to shoe my horse. You need to review the instructional video from the company so you use and care for them properly. I am trying to get my horses feet tougher so I don't have to use them everyday, but my friends used them every ride and they lasted at least a year or more, riding about 3 days a were for 2-5 hours of riding time over fairly rocky terrain or sharp gravel roads.
Dislikes: As with any boot you have to watch the mud. You have to make sure you wash your boots every ride and make sure you have cleaned your straps well. It is no different than any boot. I use some other boots as well ( easy boot epics).
Quality: Excellent quality and construction
Summary: Overall I am very pleased and they are easier to get on than the easyboot epics ( but I don't have much trouble with my epics now that I have gotten used to them). I think the renegades allow for a wider foot than the epics. The renegade is definitely easier to use than the boa types or the old macs. I love using the boots and not having to shoe my horses.
