Purchase: I bought this saddle through my Pony Club leader. She had bought it eight years before I did and it was in excellent condition. I payed $450, but they retail new for $1500 - $2000.
Likes: This saddle is beautiful! The leather is so soft and a beautiful colour. I bought it for showing AQHA and hunters and it was so versatile, making it excellent for both!
I also did a few dressage tests on it and (despite it being a close-contact saddle) I was able to lower the stirrups to dressage length and keep a good position.
I used to have a very unsteady lower leg position and this saddle helped immensely! Within 15 minutes of riding in it I had a much steadier leg.
Also this saddle is so comfortable! It is effortless for me to ride in good position while being comfortable. I found it so hard to find a saddle that I was comfortable in. Some made my back sore, some made me perch too far forward and some put my leg in an awful position. But this saddle was excellent.
I ride hunters and equitation and it was excellent on the flat and over jumps. And my friend who rides jumpers tried it out (because I raved about it for so long) and she loved it too!
I love this saddle so much and would recommend it to anyone looking for that perfect saddle!
Dislikes: The one thing I didn't like about this saddle is that the leather on the seat cracks very easily. But with proper conditioning, cleaning and care it doesn't affect the saddle. Also, the leather is so soft and delicate it scratches very easily. So you have to be very careful!
Quality: Excellent! Soft, buttery leather even on an older saddle. It's held up beautifully even under ten years of hard work and almost daily work. This is truly a beautiful saddle.
Summary: When/if I have to replace this saddle I will buy the same model! I love it so much. I recommend this saddle to anyone beginner or intermediate.
