Purchase: I bought this saddle about 6 years ago for $1,100 brand new from Valley City Tack. I wish they were still that price!
Likes: Everything. This was the only saddle that I could find that fit my hard-to-fit draft cross mare, and my extremely long legs. I had to have it special ordered with the long/more forward flap. I love the nice soft leather. It breaks in great, but doesn't scratch too easily. I ordered the reddish color, because the Havana was back ordered, and while I was skeptical at first, I love it now. It oils to a really pretty color. It's really well balanced, and super comfortable. 2 hour trail rides are comfy in this saddle. It's held up through 3 years of eventing and hunter paces (mud, water, you name it!). I would buy another Stubben in a heartbeat.
Dislikes: The price they are now! After six years of a lot of hard use, mine is starting to show some wear (only on the flaps). It also needs to be reflocked, but I guess I can't complain considering the amount of use it's had.
Quality: Stubben is a really quality made brand. The leather is nice and supple, and the saddle is well balanced. After 6 years, my saddle is showing wear only on the flaps. No stitching is loose, the billets are nice and strong, and the leather isn't cracking anywhere.
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone. I also plan on buying another Stubben as soon as I can afford one.
