Purchase: In the spring of 2011, I purchased a pair of Trainer's Choice white low rise dressage (full seat) pants for around $60 because we bought them at a Spring Fling, beginning of the season sale.(The regular price is around $120) I bought these pants because I was switching from the Hunter Circuit to dressage and needed a pair of pants.
Likes: Honestly I can't really say anything that I liked about these pants. The only thing was that they were typically pretty good about temperatures and didn't make you overly warm or didn't protect you against the cold.
Dislikes: The pants were very stiff and a hassle to pull on and off. I am a tall person and my horse is also tall,so I could never mount from the ground and required a mounting block PLUS my horseback riding instructor to get my n the saddle. The waistband seemed to sit incorrectly on my hips and when I put a belt on (and I had to because the pants have belt loops) I actually got painful rubs from where the pants rubbed against my hip bones. In place of a button there is a slide clasp n the front, which can occasionally dig into your stomach when you bend over. The slide clasp is especially painful at the sitting trot. The pants also required a leather solution to wash with. The pants stain very easily, being white, but no matter how many time you wash them they will never come out.
Quality: Like I said before, the pants are made of very stiff and made of cotton. The seat was nice, a good leather and sticky, very nice for the sitting trot and canter. I only ride in the pants at shows, so there were very few chances where I could have actually done something to hurt the pants. But they seem to be very well put together and the stitches are all still tight.
Summary: I was very unhappy with this pair of pants from Trainer's Choice. I had heard that there were overall a very nice brand and still believe that to be true, minus a few certain models, such as the ones I unfortunately bought.
