Purchase: I purchased this saddle from a defunct tack shop for $1100.
Likes: I like the look of the Bates. The leather in handsome!
Dislikes: There is a lot I don't like about this saddle. I'll begin with the panels - they are too long for smaller horses and any pony in a 17 inch or larger seat. The panels are flat and the angle is weird. I think it would create pressure points on any horse that is not table backed. The panels do not curve up into the seat in the back which would also, I believe create some pressure points on a horse with any curve to it's back. The twist is uncomfortable. The seat is uncomfortable. The knee rolls are not in the right place for a longer leg and the flaps are too long for a shorter leg. I don't think I care for the feel (or lack of feel), of the cair panels.
Quality: The construction is what one would expect from an $1800 saddle. I have no complaints about the construction.
Summary: I loved my Wintec 2000 without the cair panels and wish I had held onto it ..
