Purchase: I found this company after doing some research on some forums and also from this site, all the reviews were excellent.
I talked with Kevin and was very pleased at the answers and the concern to details, he asked a lot of questions about myself and my horse. I paid a little over 2,000.00 as I had some special tooling done and ordered a breast collar and headstall.
Likes: When the box arrived about 7 weeks later, not bad because I was told it would be 8 weeks, I pulled the saddle out and about dropped it because I was so shocked at the soft leather, color and detailed tooling.
I was truly amazed, I had looked at several saddles in some stores that were 3,500.00 and I was so glad I found Southern Trails, the quality was just as good if not better in many cases the the more expensive saddle I looked at.
On my first ride I realized this saddle was not going to take 6 months to break in, the seat was so comfortable I had to ride even longer than planned.
Dislikes: Dislike? you have to be kidding....lol..
Quality: Pretty much summed it up in the 1st likes section, but I could go on for another hours typing all the great things about this saddle, to sum it up I think this saddle was worth more than I paid!
The extra I paid for the custom tooling was well worth it, you could tell someone knew what they were doing.
I have had this saddle since July 2011 and enjoy it at least twice a week, everything is just as good as the day I received it, great quality.
Summary: Bottom Line, BUY One, you will not regret it :)
