Manufacturer: Sycamore Creek Saddles

Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: I have a Paso fino that is very thin and difficult to fit. He has high withers and a prominent spine. Most saddles I tried had a twist and did not distribute my weight properly on his back. I was never happy with the sweat pattern and in addition, my horse developed white spots and also when I gaited fast along a trail for any length of time, he would lose the hair off a dime-sized area under one of my sit-bones. I had a saddle fitting expert come and look at him and we tried numerous pads, shims, saddles, but nothing was satisfactory. I didn't have the money to buy a custom saddle or to afford most gaited horse saddles. Finally I read on-line about the tereque saddles at Sycamore Saddles. They seemed to me to be the solution to my horse's fit problem that would fit my pocket book as well. At $365 for the saddle and shipping I got a beautiful leather saddle (crupper included, no extras to buy)and through wither tracings and several conversations with the owner of Sycamore Creek Saddle the perfect saddle for my horse.
Likes: I like the following: Price; Quality (stitching and leather); Owner's honesty and knowledge; light weight and style of the tereque saddle.
I like the center-rigging for the girth strap. I find I can tighten the saddle better than I could in the past with other saddles and it stays tight! It never slips even on the roughest terrain or fastest gait, canter or gallop.
Dislikes: I have owned this saddle for 4-5 months now and there is NOTHING I don't like about it.
Quality: The saddle is well constructed,of quality leather and has a tailored look because of very neat stitching. Since I often go out on the trail for 6 hours, I take a lot of gear with me and this saddle has rings ready for all my bags to attach to. This is a "top-drawer" saddle.
Summary: Tony Pritchett (owner of Sycamore Creek Saddles) is an outstanding person as well as being friendly and patient with all of your questions. My husband is so impressed by my new saddle that he wants to get a Sycamore Creek saddle for his chubby little Paso fino.
I have no hestitation recommending Sycamore Creek Saddles to all my riding friends and I show it off on every ride. I'm pleased beyond words with this product.
