Purchase: I bought my Imperias at Dover Saddlery in Branchburg New Jersey, and paid $899 for them. Sergio Grasso boot cleaner was inclusive in the purchase.
Likes: I absolutely am in love with these boots. They are beyond stunning; they balance the perfect amount of function and craftsmanship. Although I am only 5'4" I have long legs and tall but thin calves, and these boots in a size 7.5 and tall/slim calf fit me perfectly. The Spanish top is gorgeous, and elongates my leg further. The leather is beyond comparison. My Ariat Monacos were beautiful, but they honestly do not hold a candle to these boots whatsoever. The Monaco's leather was buttery rubbish that tore within 10 rides, but the Imperias' leather is perfect. It is grippy, yet smooth. It sticks well to any horse's side, molded beautifully to my leg, and has been holding up great while I ride 4 or more horses per day. Every time I use my Sergio Grasso boot creme/cleaner, they look brand new. This is important because they are both my everyday and show boots. I compete rigorously on several horses in the hunters, jumpers, and especially equitation. My boots show no wear. The sole is thin and flexible enough to really feel my stirrup, but very supportive of my leg, and I don't suffer from foot fatigue at all. It is exceptionally well made and the stitching is tight and reliable. They took me roughly 2 days to break in from the time they were brand new from the box. Albeit I truly didn't want to take them off, so I basically had them on continuously :). The elastic laces allow my heels to flex well, they don't bunch or pinch, and hold up nicely. The zipper is durable and I've had no issues whatsoever, and I absolutely love the heel's spur rest. Honestly, the boot is basically a work of art. My previous Monacos, Der Daus, Parlantis, and even many customs of mine do not compare. I will have no other boot, and will very gladly pay this price when I do need to retire the ones I love right now.
Dislikes: Nothing! The price is a bit high, but I would pay it gladly again when this pair wears out. If they ever do, that is!
Quality: It sets a new standard. Truly a work of art. It is beautiful, functional, and reliable. I adore mine.
Summary: Honestly the best boots I've ever encountered. They leave Beval Puissances, Monacos, Parlantis, etc in the dust. It's a very worthy investment for any serious competitor, and will last many years with careful care. 5+ stars :)
Usefulness Rating: 4 out of 5.
