Purchase: I got these boots off a seller on eBay (Oct 2011) for $105, though they usually sold for around $380
Originally, I bought these (sight unseen)and the zipper would 'skip' an inch, then continue to zip up. I sent them back to Ariat. As they were a little big on me, I asked for a size down. They assessed them and sent me back the smaller size within 2-3 weeks.
Likes: They are very beautiful on with nice slim ankles and a high spanish top. The leather has held up well, and I have not had any zipper problems with my current pair. Zippers are hearty and strong. They were extremely easy to break in, no blisters!!!
Dislikes: One boot seems to be made of thicker leather than the other. The thinner, nicer quality one is more matte finish, and the other is thicker and not as nice.
Quality: Good quality and construction. Boots are made of different types of leather (not noticeable from a distance). The sewn-down swagger tabs do not have finished edges and have little fibers sticking out on one boot.
Summary: Definitely a great buy for the price I paid ($105), but if I had paid full price, I would have returned them and gotten the Tredstep Donatello's or saved a bit more and gotten the DaVinci's.
