Purchase: I'm a short rider on a wide back, hard to fit arabian mare. I ordered through a US distributor no longer in business. This saddle was made custom with a wither tracing and flaps shorten to fit my leg. It ended my saddle fitting headaches for good. I had it for 4 years and believe I paid around 2000$ at the time.
Likes: This saddle is made in England by Lovatt N Ricketts. Everything about it spells quality: design, material, stitching, details. It's extremely comfortable for both my mare and me. We train for endurance riding and 4 years of heavy use later, it looks just as nice. We also do some dressage and the saddle puts you in a balanced position. I had rings added and chose velcro removable knee rolls, which I removed for good.
Dislikes: Not much to complain about! The removable knee rolls are convenient, but when not in use, the fabric collects dust. Some kind of velcro cover would have been nice.
Being on a wide tree, the twist is quite wide and can bother someone with hip issues. But this has more to do with the horse's shape than saddle design.
Quality: See under what I like about it!
Summary: This is definitaly a high quality saddle, well designed for wide backed, low wither horses, such as arabians. It is well worth the investment and I believe will last longer than my horse.
