Purchase: After YEARS of searching for a great fitting saddle for my very narrow Morgan gelding, I came across Crest Ridge because my veterinarian and horse shoer suggested that I look for a saddle make on a "mule" tree. After several long conversations with Deborah, the owner of Crest Ridge and many photos and tracings later, we decided on the Sentry. Deborah spent a LOT of time with me getting this saddle correct. And, while I admit I was a bit skeptical after so many years of ill fitting and being told "This saddle will fit your horse"...I decided that with Crest Ridge's 100% money back guarantee, to take the leap of faith. The total cost for my Sentry which was made with a suede seat and the comfort endurance stirrups was $1,500. And Deb threw in FREE SHIPPING!
Likes: What is there NOT to like about this saddle! The fit truly is flawless. PERFECT sweat pattern! The Supracor gel seat is a DREAM to ride in. The comfort endurance stirrups have eliminated all knee and back pain. The super long (and I mean super long!) saddle strings allow you to tie anything you could possibly think of for your ride. The lighter weight of this saddle is a true bonus! I ordered this saddle in a suede seat for extra "stick 'em" on my squirrely horse.
Dislikes: There is NOTHING which I don't like about this saddle.
Quality: Excellent attention to detail. Nice quality leather and fittings. Most saddles these days come with nylon tie straps...Not Crest Ridge's...they come with full leather tie straps which I much prefer over nylon.
Summary: I would recommend anyone who has been having saddle fitting issues to give Crest Ridge a call. They will work with you to get it right. In fact, Deb knew when the tree came in for my horse that it was not going to work and sent it back! The new one which came in and was used for the construction of the saddle has been a FLAWLESS fit! And, I mean flawless. Textbook sweat pattern. You will not find a more honest and reputable company to work with for your saddle fitting.
